Paid Community Organizer is a local service provider for NAZCCA.org. The CO helps with many areas in the region of Flagstaff and Sedona. He/she:
works to bring local residents together in various climate action teams, sometimes initiating the effort or mentoring others to move forward.
works to plan and organize library meetings, to gather petition signatures, to table, to intiate and set up phone banks, to launch membership drives, to connect to prospective volunteers as mentor or counselor, to attend board meetings, to build relationships in the community, and to maintain and update data information in actionnetwork.
works on a counseling basis for a minimal of 30 hours per week, gets 6 weeks paid compensation after 6 months of service with 3 weeks time off during July and late December. Compensation for 30 hours per week approximates the equivalent of 600 usd. weekly. If and when NAZCCA receives stronger funding, much will go to COs. 40 hours per week is possible.
must have a US valid drivers license and car with compensation for mileage after 300 miles per month.
should have prior experience in working with people under a passion for climate mixed with patience to bring together a community at the grassroots to slow down the climate change and reverse it. Important is to motivate, empower and train volunteers to lead.
should be willing to cover Flagstaff and Sedona area.

There are many unpaid volunteer opportunities to help save the planet!
You can assist with the digital work, from helping with data entry to running a social media platform to improving and managing parts of the database as we reach out to the community. You must live in the action area. Be a local digital organizer for climate action teams such as Tool Lending Library, Food, Health and Climate, Movie Club, or Shoestrike.
You can assist, write, and edit articles we produce for the newspapers, radio, TV, or other social media. You must have prior experience and training.
You can table and gather petition signatures, a key to linking up with the community while letting politicians know climate change is profound. Residents are invaluable in this effort.
You can be the technical support person running NAZCCA Zoom meetings, working behind the scenes, and assisting the moderator.
You can assist with graphic arts work.
You can help with the website postings, entries, and more.
You can be a technical backup on our movie team running the technical side of our Zoom meetings, including set up, postings, uploading and running a film, live streaming to Facebook, and assisting the moderator behind the scenes.
You can be an assistance to NAZCCA's podcast, "Arizona Climate Conversations: Stories from our Backyards," in the following areas:
talent outreach and scheduling
production oversight and assistance
technical transfer from Zoom recording to webpage
