Wicked Water Problems

Wicked Water Problems

Featuring Sharon Megdal, Director, Water Resources Research Center, Univ. of AZ

Dr. Megdal’s talk will focus on wicked water problems in our region and efforts to address them. She notes, “These problems are too big for easily identifiable and/or ‘standard’ solutions and may reflect underlying societal or political issues. There are often differing viewpoints as to the causes and/or potential pathways to mitigating the challenges.” Dr. Megdal received her advanced degrees in Economics from Princeton University. Her work at the University of Arizona focuses on water management, policy, and governance in water-scarce areas of the world, in the Middle East as well as Arizona.

Dr. Megdal also served on the Leadership Team for the Colorado River Basin Water & Tribes Initiative. She looks forward to engaging in a discussion of the pressing water issues with her audience.

This program is free and everyone is welcome.
