How can scientists regain public trust?

Science is essential to solving the world's most pressing problems, but public trust in science is declining. This presentation explores how scientists can regain public trust by communicating effectively, addressing mistrust sources, and building community relationships.

Rod is an Emeritus Professor of Earth and Sustainability at Northern Arizona University with a Ph.D. in Geology from Dartmouth College. He has received over US$13 million in research funding and has authored more than 150 journal articles and papers presented at national and international meetings. His research focuses on sustainable river management in the Western US and the transformation of environmental curricula. In addition to his academic work, he has served on various boards and councils related to science and the environment, including as a water commissioner for the City of Flagstaff for over a decade. He has also advised and directed several academic programs and mentored numerous graduate and undergraduate students.
